Experience & Impact

Beyond job titles and responsibilities, this page explores the projects, experiences, ideas and ways of working that have shaped my career so far.

01

Professional Overview

Who I Am

My career has been shaped less by job titles and more by a consistent willingness to solve problems wherever they exist.

I began in editorial, where I developed a strong foundation in research, writing and quality assurance. Over time, that evolved into designing digital learning experiences, launching new products, managing programmes, supporting clients, collaborating with subject matter experts and improving the systems that help teams deliver their best work.

Although my responsibilities have changed with each role, the underlying pattern has remained the same. I enjoy stepping into complexity, understanding how different pieces connect and bringing clarity, structure and momentum to projects that involve multiple people, disciplines and priorities.

Today, I work within the ICEF Academy team at ICEF, where I design and maintain professional learning programmes used by more than 24,000 learners worldwide. My work spans instructional design, assessment development, learning operations, stakeholder collaboration and cross-functional programme delivery. Earlier in my time at ICEF, I also contributed to the launch and growth of Train Your Agents, supporting product development, international client onboarding and roadmap planning as the platform evolved from a new initiative into a key part of the organisation's learning ecosystem.

One of the themes that has followed me throughout my career is adaptability. Colleagues often describe me as someone who naturally moves towards the work that needs doing, regardless of whether it sits within my formal remit. That has led me to contribute across learning, product, client success, marketing, editorial operations, knowledge management and process improvement—often within the same role.

I don't see versatility as doing a little bit of everything. I see it as being able to learn quickly, communicate clearly and apply the same core strengths across different challenges. Those strengths—systems thinking, written communication, curiosity, organisation and a strong eye for quality—have become the foundation of my professional identity.

As I continue to grow, my ambition is to move into broader leadership roles where I can help organisations build capability, lead meaningful change and create scalable, long-term impact.

02

What I Bring

Learning Experience Design

I enjoy transforming complex information into learning experiences that are practical, engaging and genuinely useful. My work combines research, instructional design, assessment development and content production to help learners build confidence and apply knowledge in real-world contexts.

At ICEF, this has included designing and launching professional development courses from concept to completion, collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and translating complex international education policies into accessible learning experiences for a global audience.

Programme Delivery

I enjoy bringing structure and momentum to projects with many moving parts.

Whether coordinating course launches, managing competing priorities or supporting product implementation across multiple teams, I focus on creating clarity, maintaining quality and ensuring work moves forward efficiently. I'm comfortable balancing strategic thinking with execution, whether that means planning a programme, reviewing learning content, testing a product or resolving day-to-day operational challenges.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Some of the most rewarding parts of my career have involved working between disciplines rather than within them.

I've collaborated with educators, developers, marketers, client organisations, product teams, and business stakeholders, helping align different perspectives around a common objective. I enjoy translating ideas between technical experts and non-specialists, making complex conversations more accessible and helping projects move forward with shared understanding.

Strategic Communication & Knowledge Translation

Writing has always been one of my strongest professional tools.

Whether I'm developing learning content, creating assessments, writing marketing copy, producing knowledge resources, or facilitating stakeholder discussions, my focus is always the same: communicate clearly enough that people know exactly what to do next. Good communication isn't simply about presenting information. It's about creating understanding, building confidence, and enabling action.

Systems Thinking & Continuous Improvement

I naturally look for ways to make work simpler, clearer and more effective.

Throughout my career I've redesigned workflows, strengthened quality assurance processes, contributed product feedback, improved operational systems and identified opportunities to increase efficiency across teams. Rather than accepting existing processes as fixed, I enjoy understanding why they work the way they do and how they can be improved over time.

Stakeholder Management

Much of my work sits at the intersection of different priorities, perspectives and areas of expertise. Whether collaborating with subject matter experts, product teams, developers, marketers, client organisations or senior business leaders, I enjoy building the alignment needed to move complex projects forward.

At ICEF, stakeholder management has been central to everything from designing learning programmes and launching new courses to supporting product development and implementing client training platforms. My role often involves translating specialist knowledge into practical solutions, balancing competing priorities and ensuring that everyone involved has the clarity needed to contribute effectively.

I believe successful stakeholder management is less about coordination and more about trust. Listening carefully, communicating clearly and following through consistently are what enable strong working relationships and successful outcomes.

The following sections explore how these strengths have developed throughout my career and the projects that have shaped them.

Beyond Formal Learning

Some of the most valuable learning experiences in my career haven't come from classrooms.

They've come from launching new products, collaborating with international teams, working alongside subject matter experts, experimenting with emerging AI technologies, mentoring colleagues and stepping into unfamiliar challenges.

I learn best by combining curiosity with application—studying new ideas, testing them in practice and continuously refining my approach based on experience and feedback.

06

Tools & Ways of Working

I learn tools quickly because I focus on understanding systems.

I've never believed that great work is defined by the tools we use.

Software changes quickly. Principles don't.

Throughout my career, I've learned new platforms whenever projects demanded them, focusing less on mastering individual applications and more on understanding the workflows, systems and people they support.

The tools below are simply the current toolkit that helps me research, design, collaborate and deliver learning experiences at scale.

Learning Design & Content Development

Most of my work revolves around translating complex knowledge into structured, engaging learning experiences.

Whether I'm designing assessments, structuring learning pathways or maintaining existing courses, my focus remains the same: helping learners understand, retain and apply new knowledge.

Tools

  • Articulate Rise 360
  • Articulate Storyline 360
  • Review 360
  • LearnDash
  • WordPress

Research & Knowledge Synthesis

Good learning begins long before writing.

I spend a significant amount of time researching unfamiliar topics, verifying information, identifying reliable sources and working closely with subject matter experts to understand both the content and the learner's perspective.

The goal isn't simply collecting information—it's making sense of it.

Tools

  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity
  • Google NotebookLM
  • Google Workspace
  • Microsoft Office

Collaboration & Programme Delivery

Nearly every project I've worked on has involved coordinating with multiple stakeholders across different disciplines, organisations and time zones.

The technology matters less than the conversations it enables.

My focus is always on maintaining clarity, documenting decisions and helping projects move forward smoothly.

Tools

  • Microsoft Teams
  • Zoom
  • Google Meet
  • Slack
  • Trello
  • Jira

Product & Client Success

Working on Train Your Agents introduced me to the practical realities of customer onboarding, implementation and product feedback.

These tools supported conversations with organisations, demonstrations and collaboration around platform improvements.

Tools

  • Salesforce CRM
  • Internal product platforms
  • CMS platforms

AI in Practice

I see AI as a collaborator rather than a replacement.

It helps me accelerate research, organise ideas, improve first drafts, explore different approaches and reduce repetitive work, allowing me to spend more time on judgement, instructional design and stakeholder collaboration.

Having experimented with large language models from their early public releases, I've developed a practical understanding of both their strengths and their limitations.

My approach is intentionally human-led: AI supports my thinking, but it never replaces critical judgement, accuracy or accountability.

Current toolkit

  • ChatGPT
  • Google NotebookLM
  • Perplexity
  • Lovable
  • Claude (when appropriate)

My Approach to Technology

Whenever I learn a new platform, I ask the same questions:

  • Does this help people work more effectively?
  • Does it improve the learner experience?
  • Does it simplify complexity?
  • Does it make collaboration easier?
  • Does it solve a real problem?

Technology is most valuable when it quietly enables better work rather than becoming the centre of attention.

That's the mindset I try to bring to every project, regardless of the software involved.

Ways of Working

Structured Thinking

I naturally organise complexity into clear, manageable systems. Whether designing a course, planning a project or improving a workflow, I begin by understanding the broader structure before focusing on individual details.

Clear Communication

Much of my work involves translating between different audiences—subject matter experts, learners, clients, colleagues and business stakeholders. I aim to communicate with clarity, precision and empathy, ensuring ideas are understood as well as shared.

Continuous Improvement

I rarely see processes as finished. I'm naturally curious about how systems can become more efficient, more intuitive and more valuable over time, whether through better documentation, improved workflows or thoughtful use of technology.

Curiosity

One of the most consistent themes throughout my career has been a willingness to learn. New industries, new technologies and new responsibilities have never felt like obstacles—they've been opportunities to expand my understanding and contribute in new ways.

The tools I use will continue to evolve throughout my career. The way I approach problems—through curiosity, collaboration, thoughtful design and continuous improvement—is what I expect to remain constant.

07

Looking Forward

Building Capability, Leading Change

Throughout my career, I've been drawn to roles where learning, collaboration and continuous improvement intersect.

Whether coordinating editorial teams, designing professional learning programmes, supporting the launch of a digital learning platform or collaborating with international stakeholders, the common thread has always been helping people and organisations adapt, improve and grow.

As I look ahead, I'm less interested in changing industries than in expanding the scale of the impact I can have.

I want to help organisations build capability, navigate change and create environments where people are equipped to succeed—not just today, but as technologies, industries and ways of working continue to evolve.

The Kind of Work That Motivates Me

I'm energised by work that combines several elements:

  • Solving meaningful organisational problems.
  • Working across disciplines and functions.
  • Designing systems that continue improving over time.
  • Translating complex ideas into practical action.
  • Supporting people through change.
  • Creating scalable solutions rather than one-off fixes.

Growing Into Leadership

My career has naturally become broader with each role.

What began in editorial evolved into quality management. That developed into instructional design. Then programme delivery. Then client success. Then product collaboration.

Each transition reinforced an important lesson: transferable skills become more valuable—not less—as responsibilities become more strategic.

As I continue growing, I'm excited by opportunities that combine leadership with execution: roles where I can shape direction, develop people, improve systems and continue contributing directly to meaningful work.

Change Management & Digital Transformation

One of the themes that increasingly interests me is how organisations successfully navigate change.

Throughout my career, I've worked on projects involving new learning platforms, evolving policies, changing workflows and the adoption of emerging technologies. While the contexts have differed, they've all reinforced the same lesson: successful transformation is rarely about the technology itself. It's about helping people understand it, trust it and use it confidently.

That perspective has drawn me towards change management, digital transformation and organisational capability—areas where learning, communication and stakeholder engagement play a critical role in turning strategy into sustainable day-to-day practice.

Over time, I hope to contribute more directly to initiatives that help organisations navigate complex change with clarity, confidence and lasting impact.

Responsible & Scalable AI

Artificial intelligence has become one of the most exciting developments in my professional journey.

I began experimenting with large language models during their early public adoption, initially exploring how they could support editorial consistency and structured content creation. Since then, I've integrated AI into research, instructional design, content development, brainstorming and productivity workflows, while remaining mindful of the importance of human judgement, critical thinking and quality assurance.

What interests me most isn't automation for its own sake.

It's understanding how AI can responsibly augment human capability, enabling people to spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time on creativity, decision-making and meaningful collaboration.

As organisations continue to adopt AI, I believe learning and change management will become increasingly important in helping people build confidence, develop new ways of working and use these technologies ethically, responsibly and at scale.

I intend to continue learning, experimenting and contributing in this space as both the technology and the workplace evolve.

What I Value in an Organisation

The environments where I've done my best work have shared a few common characteristics.

  • They value curiosity over certainty.
  • Collaboration over hierarchy.
  • Continuous improvement over complacency.
  • Learning as a strategic capability rather than a one-time activity.
  • People who take ownership.
  • Thoughtful communication.
  • Long-term thinking.
  • Responsible innovation.

A Personal Philosophy

Over the years, I've realised that my professional philosophy is surprisingly simple.

I enjoy making things work better.

Sometimes that means improving a learning experience. Sometimes it means helping a team collaborate more effectively. Sometimes it means simplifying a complicated process. Sometimes it means introducing a new way of working. Sometimes it means asking better questions before searching for answers.

Whatever the challenge, I'm motivated by understanding how people, ideas and systems connect—and by finding thoughtful ways to strengthen those connections.

That's the kind of work I hope to keep doing throughout my career.

Every role I've held has expanded the way I think about learning, leadership and organisational change. Together, they've shaped an approach grounded in curiosity, collaboration, thoughtful communication and a belief that the most meaningful impact comes from helping people adapt, grow and succeed through change.
